A recently immense trend within the Sommelier and “wine geek” communities, ORANGE WINES have been an obscure and controversial topic for ever, so much that most European Sommelier Associations refuse to evaluate them as regular wines and include them in their guides. Very traditional in their homelands, Orange-wines can be defined as wines made from white grapes with extended skin contact that undergo purposeful oxidation.

One of the hot-spots for these rarities is in Friuli, on the border with Slovenia and Italy, in the township of OSLAVIA. Half Italian, half Slav and made from the Ribolla Gialla varietal (‘Rebuje’ in Slovenian), these are some of the most iconic examples of this “touchy subject”.

Join us in a seminar & tasting of various producers of Ribolla Gialla di Oslavia and experience for yourself what the fuss is all about. (Producers : RADIKON, PRIMOSIC, DARIO PRINCIC, FIEGL, LA CASTELLADA)
